CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER LOOKING FOR FORMER STUDENTS TO CELEBRATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY

The Fairplex Child Development Center is celebrating 25 years of service to the community and it’s looking for alumni to help commemorate the occasion.

The CDC is hosting a fun-filled birthday bash from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, at the center, 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona. All children – and their families – who attended the center from 1980 to the present are invited to attend. The anniversary committee is preparing a yearbook. Any alumni who would like their photo included should contact the CDC by April 29th. Former employees and University of La Verne students who did practicum hours at the center are also invited.

Like a typical birthday party, the May 14 event will feature games and activities for kids of all ages, entertainment and an old-fashioned barbecue. Several families instrumental in the center’s inception will be honored as will the University of La Verne for its valuable relationship with the CDC.

The Fairplex Child Development Center opened in 1980, designed to nurture children’s emotional, social, physical, intellectual and family needs. Regarded as one of the top facilities of its kind in California, the center has undergone a number of expansions that now enables it to serve nearly 200 children. In 1991, the center merged with the University of La Verne’s childcare center.

RSVPs should be received at the center by Friday, May 7th. For more information, call the CDC at (909) 623-3899. Visit the Web site at www.fairplex.org.
