IF IT’S TIME FOR THE L.A. COUNTY FAIR, IT’S TIME FOR SHOPPING
Skechers Shape-Ups, Farm Fresh to You, Murano glass jewelry join the Fair’s

shop-a-ganza

For many avid Fairguests, shopping is synonymous with the L.A. County Fair. It might be the latest food-chopper-salsa-maker-juicer combo or the super chamois. You might be looking for the latest in fashion or jewelry. The fun part is finding beautiful art pieces right next to rhinestone sunglasses. Need a hat? You’ll find hundreds from which to choose.

Looking for something new and different? The Fair has that, too. How about Skechers Shape-Ups, which claim to promote weight loss, strengthen muscles and improve posture without going to the gym? Buy a pair and work off all that delicious Fair food. Farm Fresh to You, a home delivery grocer, will be on hand to sign you up for delivery fresh to your door of its organic fruits and vegetables. On the other end of the spectrum, lovely and fashionable Murano jewelry, made from a traditional Italian glassblowing technique, is a unique gift item you can buy now and stash for the holidays. Several mobile shopping sites located through the Fair have everything from Clorox’s new eco-friendly Green Works® product line to Nintendo Wii, which you can take for a test run.

The popular Arts & Crafts Weekends, officially called “Pepper Street Crafters,” have a new home this year at the south end of Pepper Street in front of the community stage, Sept. 5 – 7, 19 and 20, 26 and 27 and Oct. 3 and 4. On any given weekend you might find an airbrush tattoo artist, children’s clothes, jewelry, pet ID tags, belts, handmade rocking chairs and more.

For a list of all shopping opportunities at the Fair, visit lacountyfair.com.
The L.A. County Fair opens Labor Day weekend, Sept. 5 – 7 and then Wednesday – Sunday, Sept. 9 – Oct. 4, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Live thoroughbred racing Sept. 10 – 28, dark Mondays Sept. 14 and 21 and Tuesdays. For information on ways to save at the Fair, visit www.lacountyfair.com.
