Sept.17-20 will feature the California Saddlebred Futurity Horse Show.  The Saddlebred is truly an American breed.  It was developed during the pioneer days as strong, speedy, good-tempered and comfortable to ride over long distances.  This flashy horse will showcase his versatility for riding and driving in Five–Gaited, Three-Gaited, Fine Harness, Show Pleasure Driving, English and Western Country Pleasure Driving, and In-Hand classes.  Evening performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday begin at 6:00 pm.  Matinee on Saturday at 11:00 am.   For a premium book or other information, call Harriet Landrum at 805-687-8711.

Sept. 25-27 - The young folks from the local 4-H and FFA Clubs will bring their horses to the Fair.  They will be competing in the South Sectional 4-H and FFA Horse Show.  Come see these up and coming horsemen and horsewomen show off their horses and their riding skills in both English and Western classes.  For more information or to enter this show, contact Nikki Wilson at wilsonfarms@verizon.net or call 760-868-5583.

Sept. 30- Oct. 4  -  The International Draft Horse, Mule and Pleasure Driving Horse Show will roll into the arena.  The ground shakes as the six-horse draft horse hitches make their way around the show arena.  The crowd is dazzled by the fancy coaches pulled by teams of night-black Friesians.  Mules dash furiously around the arena chasing the clock in pole bending competitions.  This event showcases the vast variety of the equine world and Fair guests who venture into the horse show arena during the Draft, Mule and Driving Show are rewarded by amazing and unique competition.  Sharon Gifford, at 909-865-4091, has complete information on the show.
