Cid was named Director in 2012. Cid has served as Vice Chairman for the past two years and Chairman of the Governance & Nominating Committee and the By-laws Committee. He also serves on the Fairplex Child Development Center (CDC) board, is a member of the CDC Finance Committee, Governance Committee, and on the La Verne Blue Ribbon committee. Cid is the President and CEO of Children’s Fund in San Bernardino. He is also active in the community serving on the board of Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center and Bright Prospect. Cid served on the City of La Verne Planning Commission from 2004-10 and was elected twice by his peers to serve as Chairman. He has a Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s Seminary and a doctorate in organizational leadership from University of La Verne.

Tina was named Director in 2015. She has served as Secretary for the past two years, is the Chair of the Audit committee, and serves on the By-laws and Governance and Nominating committees. She is an attorney and managing partner of Loza & Loza, LLP. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola Marymount University and graduated from Loyola Law School. She is past president and currently sits on the board of National Association of Women Business Owners – Inland Empire (NAWBO-IE) and NAWBO-California. She is also on the board of the 100 Mile Club and is an Adjunct Professor at University of La Verne – School of Law.

Linda was named Director in 2016. She serves on the Finance and Audit committees. After practicing oncology in our community for 26 years her practice joined City of Hope in 2014. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor working with academic and community clinicians to deliver the latest cancer care and clinical breakthroughs wherever patients live. She serves on the board of directors for the American Society of Clinical Oncology and has served on many other boards of directors and committees for national oncology organizations including the California American Cancer society. She has been recognized by her peers as one of the top 4%, Best Doctors in the US annually since 2005. She writes and lectures for professionals and the public on high quality cancer care and the latest cancer therapies. Linda is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley, Stanford Medical School and Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Harvard Medical School Oncology Fellowship program. She is a former faculty member at Stanford and Harvard Schools of Medicine.

Ronald Bolding was named Director in 2015. Bolding is President and CEO of Inter Valley Health Plan one of the region’s leading Medicare Advantage health plan for 8 years. He serves on the Audit, Finance and Compensation and Investment Committees. He is an active community member and serves as a board member for Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity, Pomona Valley Community Services and Congregational Homes, Inc., CNB Inland Empire Advisory Board and Community Senior Services. He served 28 years in the United States Navy. He is a recipient of the Pomona Valley Boys & Girls Club Achievement Award and the Pomona Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award.

Heidi Hanson was named Director in 2014. Hanson is the Finance & Administrative Manager with Rain Bird International. She serves on the Audit committee and is the Vice Chair of the Finance and Compensation committee. She is on the Fairplex CDC Finance committee and a member of the CTEC agriculture advisory committee.

John Landherr was named Director in 2015. Landherr is President of A-Z bus Sales, Inc. He serves on the Finance and Compensation, Governance and Nominating, and Visioning committees. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He serves his community as the Secretary of the Board of Directors at the Let It Be Foundation, board member of the Chino Hills Aquatics. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from The United States naval Academy and an M.B.A. in finance from Texas A&M University.

Richard Martinez was named Director in 2017. Since 2009, Richard has been superintendent of Pomona Unified School District, which serves 30,000 students in the cities of Diamond Bar and Pomona. Richard has focused on closing the achievement gap for inner-city students and under his leadership, PUSD has record acceptances from notable colleges and Ivy League universities throughout the United States. He is a recipient of the prestigious Francis M. Wheat Community Service Award for his tireless advocacy for children’s rights. Richard is a graduate of Cal State LA and the University of La Verne, and is a sought-after expert in the field of urban education. He serves on a number of boards including Shoes That Fit, Pomona’s Promise and is board chair for the Los Angeles Urban Preschool.
J. Michael Ortiz

Michael Ortiz was named Director in 2011, Vice Chairman of the Board in January 2012 and Chairman of the Board in 2014. He is serving as chairman of the board and interim president and CEO of the LACFA until a permanent replacement is named following Jim Henwood’s retirement in Now retired, he was the fifth President of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, a position he held since August 2003. He serves on several board committees including By-laws, Visioning and Pomona Blue Ribbon Committee. He continues in an advisory role at Cal Poly Pomona on agricultural and education. He is currently teaching a leadership course and the Palm Desert campus of Cal State University San Bernardino.

John Solomon was named Director in 2010. He is owner and President of Liquorama in Upland. He serves on the Finance and Compensation, Governance and Nominating committees, and is a member of The Learning Centers at Fairplex (TLC) board. He is also is a member of TLC Fund Development and Governance and Nominating committees. He is Chair of Chino Hills community committee & serves on the Upland community committee. Also serves on PVHMC foundation board and is a member of Upland Chamber of Commerce. He writes monthly wine columns for Inland Valley Daily Bulletin and Inland Empire Magazine. He served as a judge in the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits competition. He is an AYSO soccer coach.

Edward Tessier is the director of Designs for Independence since 1989. He is also a consultant for numerous organizations on ADA and urban planning issues. He is president of JEVED Management, an urban real estate firm and helped design and develop Pomona Arts Colony and Emporia Arts District in downtown Ontario. He serves on the CTEC steering committee. He is president and founder of School of Arts and Enterprise, a State of California charter high school serving the IE and a trustee and educator at Western University for Health Sciences. Tessier serves on the advisory board of Center for Disability and is a guest lecturer on disability, cultural arts and economic development. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Pomona College, graduating summa cum laude.

Kiana Webb is chief operations officer of Webb Family Enterprises, operators of several McDonald’s franchises, since 2002. She also held positions of assistant manager, store manager, supervisor and vice president. She was previously employed as assistant buyer for Tall Etc. She serves on the Child Development Center board; is a member of Soroptimist International Pomona Claremont chapter; and has worked with Turning Point Staffing Services to find jobs for women on parole. Webb earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration with an emphasis in hospitality management from University of San Francisco.
