From its inception, Fairplex has served as a regional economic
engine. It’s part of the organization’s core mission. One of the initiatives
of the Fairplex Strategic Plan, is to explore developing mixed-use lifestyle centers
consisting of housing, office space, retail, entertainment and community spaces. One
example is the Old
Downtown La Verne Specific Plan. Fairplex has begun its efforts to develop
an approximately 12-acre parcel within the campus, which sits within the La Verne city
limits, as part of the Specific Plan. The mixed-use project is part of the Gold Line's
Transit-Oriented Development.
