As many organizations have experienced, The Learning Centers at Fairplex has been highly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Although some of our school buildings have closed, our instructional programs have continued. All classes in the Career and Technical Education Center have shifted to online-based distance learning, as of March 2020, utilizing the Zoom platform. Given CTEC’s educational philosophy is so heavily focused on hands-on, interactive instruction, CTEC instructors have thought out of the box to engage their students, and they continue to serve the educational needs of local high school students.
The Child Development Center has remained open throughout the pandemic, adapting to local, county and state health protocols. In response to the pandemic the CDC also welcomed the children of essential workers, at no cost and created a school-age program to accommodate students 6 – 12 years old.
